Snowy Mountains!

So this Christmas Luisa and I have decided to spend our Holiday up in the mountains of Donnelly Idaho near McCall! It's GORGEOUS up here, but it comes with some very cold temperatures. But what has been so fun has been our chance to try out my new camera. It's been a blast and the jump to a full frame sensor has been a fantastic one. Here are some pictures that I've taken while being up here in the beautiful country side. I really like the black and whites, but the colors are gorgeous as well.

So far, I can not believe the dynamic range of the camera and the sharpness of a new fisheye lens. We're
having too much fun and I'll be sure to post some more pictures!

My Support...

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I am working on some photos right now but just wanted to post a picture of my sweet wife. She is by my side in whatever I'm doing, no matter what. Without her support, my photography would not be possible.

The Mason Family!

What an amazing and fun family!!! We had a blast! We went to this new park that I had never been to, and planned on going to a bridge later in the day but we had so much fun in the park that we stayed there the whole evening. The fall colors were gorgeous, and there were quite a few photographers, but I don't think anyone was having as much fun as we were. This family was great, fun, relaxed and completely natural in front of the camera. Here are some favorites from the shoot.

The Campbell Family!

What a great family! We had so much fun shooting at three different locations around Boise. Here are just a few samples of their shoot. The kids were adorable, and sometimes a bit hard to hold their attention. But they did amazing!

A couple more...

Luisa was kinda enough to let me test out the light before Josh and Lacey came out and I like this picture. You can actually see her holding my 50 mm lens.

Josh and Lacey's Wedding!!!

These last few days have been too much fun! Luisa and I drove down to American Fork UT to go to some our awesome friends, Josh and Lacey's wedding. It was such a fun time. I wasn't the "photographer" which was actually the funnest part. I got to enjoy the whole trip and wedding without being stressed out about pictures. It was perfect. I loved taking "background" photographs because I was able to do things that I usually wouldn't do. I was able to experiment with new techniques, styles and angles, enabling myself to step outside of my normal comfort zone without the pressure of being the wedding photographer. While I would normally be shooting group formals, I was able to shoot people watching and much more candid shots. I think my favorite thing was almost hiding beind people, as if I wasn't there, and then shooting over people's heads at whatever the scene played out, hopefully creating the sense, that as you view the photograph, you almost feel like you're there in between the crowd. It was a blast, and Josh and Lacey were the coolest, most chill and fun bride and groom in the world. The wedding was an absolute blast. So here are some of my favorite shots. Hope you enjoy!

Which ones best?

Here is the same image edited in three different versions, color, black and white, and kind of a vintage washed out look. I want to ask YOUR opinion! Which one do you like best? Leave a comment or email me and tell me what you think. Thanks so much!!!
